Or shifted layers of reality? There was no way to tell truly but Nathanial was sure he was not the only Hunter to have died, often painfully, many many times while attempting to survive. Even without poking around and exploring and figuring out the secrets of the past and how it all tied together.]
Were any of them dying, when they came to Yharnam? Making an impossible choice between what was almost certain death, and what was also almost certain death?
